Old Fashioned Oatmeal

Old Fashioned oatmeal made just how you like: Peaches and cream, Cinnamon brown sugar, Cinnamon brown sugar with pecans and bananas

Cinnamon and brown sugar old fashioned oatmeal, a hot breakfast and great way to start your day. It fills you up and gives you energy, and you can make it even better by adding some fruit.


What you will need:

4 cups of water

1 cup of milk (or soy milk)

3 cups of old fashioned oats

1/2 -  1 cup of light brown sugar (to taste)

1 teaspoon of cinnamon

1 teaspoon of vanilla


Directions:

In a large pan, place 4 cups of water, brown sugar and cinnamon, bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium then stir in oats and cook for 5 minutes, stirring often. Turn off heat, stir in milk and vanilla, let set until it thickens.


Suggestions:

You can add chopped pecans and cut a banana into this oatmeal to make eat even better. You can also add frozen fruit by putting it in before the oatmeal and bringing it to a boil with the water. Fresh fruit can be added to oatmeal after it is done cooking since fresh fruit does not require cooking.
